Kazusa Tougu has the unique ability to see youkai, peculiar spirits that inhabit the world out of view from most humans. Due to this power, he lives in a community of monks and works as an exorcist. After finishing an easy job, Kazusa is suddenly blindsided by a tengu—a humanoid creature with crow-like wings, immense strength, and supernatural powers. The rebellious youkai, named Nagi, whisks Kazusa away, binding and knocking the exorcist unconscious. Nagi wishes to become stronger, and the fastest way for him to fulfill that desire is to mate with a powerful exorcist. However, before Nagi can have his way, he is called upon by his elders, giving Kazusa an opportunity to escape. While searching for an exit, he spots the elders scolding Nagi and learns something startling: the tengu's previously unseen feathers are revealed to be completely white, making him a pariah among his kin. Despite Nagi's insistence on bonding with him, Kazusa refuses to exorcize the forceful crow as Kazusa empathizes with the tengu's feelings of loneliness. Though their first encounter was less than ideal, the two outcasts begin to deepen their unorthodox relationship as they start to connect on an emotional level as well as a physical one.
