Set in an alternate Tokyo where spontaneous human combustion has reshaped society, Fire Force imagines a city protected by specialized brigades who extinguish flame-transformed humans and put their souls to rest. Third-generation pyrokinetic Shinra Kusakabe joins Company 8 with hopes of heroism, only to find a Fire Force divided by internal conflict and connected to the mysterious blaze that killed his family. The series uses Tokyo's civic institutions as a backdrop to explore questions of duty, corruption, and loss.
