Set in a fictional imperial court inspired by ancient China, this historical mystery series centers on Maomao, a sharp-minded young apothecary who is sold into service as a palace maid and finds herself quietly solving medical puzzles the court cannot explain. Her attempts to stay invisible backfire when a perceptive eunuch named Jinshi recognizes her abilities and elevates her to lady-in-waiting, pulling her deeper into the intrigues of palace life.
